Paua.
Built in layers.
A brand look for Paua, a protective materials company, built around a layered graphic and used across brochures, product tags, trade shows and animation.
Paua.
Overview
Paua is a ground-breaking highly protective packaging material technology used in bags, boxes and cases.
We didn’t design Paua’s logo. From 2017, we created the look around it, and how the brand explains itself across print, events and motion.

Paua.
The Challenge
Paua needed to explain how its materials work, and what happens to them over their life, to buyers, distributors and partners who might give it a few seconds.

Paua had a logo but no wider look, and every product launch and trade show needed new material that felt like the same brand.

Paua.
The Solution
We built Paua’s look around a layered graphic inspired by the construction of the material itself: translucent planes that overlap like the layers that absorb an impact.

Visual language Brochures and guidelines Lifecycle infographics Swing tags Trade show graphics Animation

Used as an image overlay and to divide sections of content, it gave Paua a look no one else could borrow. It runs through modular brochures, swing tags and trade show stands. A series of infographics maps the material’s environmental lifecycle, from resource extraction to end of life, showing where it can be maintained, refurbished, repurposed or recycled rather than thrown away. When Paua developed two new products, Box For Life and Pallet Wrap, we launched them with animations in a playful mixed-media style.

Paua.
The Outcome
Paua's sales and marketing teams gained one consistent way to explain the product, from a client deck to an exhibition stand.

Built from the product.
A layered graphic inspired by the material’s own construction.
One look, everywhere.
Brochures, tags, trade show stands and films all share the same layers.
A system, not a one-off.
Modular templates let each new launch build on the last.
The animations loop on exhibition stands and sit inside client presentations, doing the explaining when the team can't.
“Always blown away by the creative. A depth of understanding of our brand that’s hard to find.”
